Atira

Artist & Cultural Host

Atira is the artist name of Svetlana Brodsky, a California-based artist and cultural host whose work is shaped by memory, migration, and a fascination with cultures, objects, and stories that travel across time and place.

I make art because I believe creation is one of the ways we answer the world. A forgotten photograph, a worn magazine, a map, a piece of paper — these are where my work begins. I collect fragments that once mattered to someone and invite them to meet new stories. I am less interested in illustrating ideas than in creating spaces where viewers can encounter their own inner world. Art does not tell us what to see; it reveals what we bring with us. I believe beauty is not an escape from reality but a quiet act of resistance. Every act of genuine creation adds a little more light to the world.

My path

Why More Than Collage

More Than Collage grew from a simple idea: that a richer life may begin by learning to notice more.

The name reflects a practice that moves beyond any single medium—between art, objects, ideas, conversation, and the ways we make meaning from what we find.
